Munkey ("Munkey", "we", "us") is a playful vocabulary learning app for children and their parents or guardians. We care deeply about protecting your family's privacy. This policy describes what we collect, why, and the choices you have.
Who uses Munkey
Munkey is designed to be set up and managed by a parent or guardian. Accounts are created by grown-ups, and children use the app under their supervision.
Information we collect
- Account details. When a parent signs up, we collect an email address and a securely stored password to create and protect the account.
- Child profile. Information you choose to add about your child, such as a first name or nickname and age, so we can tailor the learning experience.
- Learning content. The words, word banks, quiz results, streaks, and progress created while using the app.
- App preferences. Settings such as language, reading mode, and brightness, stored to remember how you like Munkey.
- Basic technical data. Standard information like app version and device type that helps us keep Munkey stable and improve it.
How we use information
- To create and secure your account and sync your data across devices.
- To personalize learning — showing the right words, quizzes, and progress.
- To operate features like text-to-speech pronunciation and progress tracking.
- To send important account messages, such as email verification.
- To diagnose problems, prevent abuse, and improve the app.
Children's privacy
Munkey is intended to be used with parental involvement. We collect the minimum information needed to provide the learning experience and we do not use children's information for advertising or sell it to anyone. If you believe a child has provided us information without parental consent, contact us and we will delete it promptly.
How your information is stored
Account and learning data are stored securely using trusted infrastructure providers on our behalf. We use industry-standard measures to protect data in transit and at rest. Some preferences are also stored locally on your device.
Service providers we rely on
- Supabase — secure authentication and cloud data storage.
- Firebase Cloud Messaging — to deliver optional notifications and reminders.
These providers process data only to provide their services to Munkey.
Advertising
Munkey does not show third-party ads and does not sell your personal information.
Data retention
We keep your information while your account is active. You can ask us to delete your account and associated data at any time, and we will remove it except where we're required to retain certain records by law.

- Access, update, or correct your account and child profile information.
- Request deletion of your account and associated data.
- Manage notification preferences on your device.
